The 4th annual Central Asia GIS Conference at the Austria-Central Asia Centre for GIScience (http://www.aca-giscience.org/)  was opened on May 27 by Rector Abdykalykov from the Kyrgyz State University of Construction, Transportation and Architecture in Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic. He was assisted by the Austrian ambassador to Central Asia, HE Ursula Fahringer and the representative of the Eurasia-Pacific Uninet, Prof. Alfred Pitterle.

This is Istvan Tozsa, head of the Economic Geography Department of the Corvinus University of Budapest, Hungary.
Let me inform you about a new, quarterly, on-line, professional bulletin entitled Corvinus Regional Studies.

We are expecting short (5-10 pages) studies on any topic related to regional economic issues to publish.

eSDI-NET+ website upgraded

From our daily mail. Swetlana Fast of the eSDI-NET+ project coordination at the Technische Universität Darmstadt, Fachgebiet Graphisch-Interaktive Systeme wrote this afternoon:
"We are delighted to announce, that the updated eSDI-Net+ website http://www.esdinetplus.eu/ has been launched today. We would like to express many thanks to our Project Office for the implementation of the website concept.
Please take a look at it. Your comments and suggestions on contents that could be added or changed are welcome.
The public version of the SDI Database and the SDI self-assessment tool will be integrated as soon as they will be available. Furthermore, it is envisaged to publish a more detailed documentation of the assessment methodology soon.
Please feel free to disseminate this information among your mailing lists. Please keep uploading your documents and presentations made at conferences and other events."

HUNAGI in the SDI Self-assessment Development Team of the eSDI-NET+ project

The team under the leadership of Mr. Franco Vico
has members from Italy, France, Poland, UK and Hungary.
The meeting was hosted by Mr. Francois Salgé on the premises of the French Ministry of Ecology, Energy, Sustainable Development and the Sea.

New HUNAGI Membership Applicant: Institute of Agroinformatics and Rural Development, College of Károly Róbert at Gyöngyös

The Application of the  Institute of Agroinformatics and Rural Development of the College of Károly Róbert  for HUNAGI membership was received on 7th of May. The Institute involved in spatial data and INPSIRE-related activities since many years will be represented in HUNAGI by Dr. Csaba Lénárt, who is  among other founding member of the International Geospatial Society.
